Know your current council

 

Do you remember who you voted for at the last full Hills Shire Council election in 2017.  No? This writer is not sure either.

Following that election, the Hills Shire Council was made up as follows:

  • 1 elected Mayor: Liberal

  • 12 elected councillors: 10 x Liberal, 2 x Labor

Of course party allegiance does not tell us everything about our individual representatives position (on climate matters or anything else). We hope to bring you more on candidates views on climate matters closer to September's election. But you might observe that it is not conducive to good outcomes, particularly on climate, to have our local representative body so dominated by one political force.  We will expand on this theme in future posts.

Following the 2017 election, there have been two councillors resigned and one elected in the West Ward By-election in July 2018.  These are your current mayor and councillors:
